Duncan Ball's books have won and been nominated for many awards, including Children's Book Council of Australia Awards, the KOALA Awards (Kids Own Australian Literature Awards---NSW), the YABBA Awards (Young Australians Best Book Awards---Victoria), the COOL Awards (Canberra’s Own Outstanding List), the WAYRBA (the West Australian Young Readers’ Book Awards), the KROC Awards (Kids Reading Oz Choice---Northern Territory) and the KANGA Awards (South Australia).

In addition, the KOALA Awards committee voted Duncan a KOALA Legend for the number of shortlistings and awards over the years.

And the WAYRBA jury voted Duncan into their Hall of Fame.
